I did some research into creating an xedit script or even creating a skyproc patch for java, but realized that regardless of what methods I used, there would be no way that I know of to create a blacklist of custom-haired NPC replacers like Bijin without having them getting overwritten by VHR heads and causing issues, so this was the simplest solution I could think up to come close to automating NPC facegen for VHR.
This tutorial and idea was conceived by talking with neuroliquidity who asked for an easier way to patch NPCs and avoid downloading hundreds of patches. Patches are still in the 'old' files section and will remain there, but will no longer be supported!
Thank you. This is now the supported installation method for VHR. Where did you learn what they were? UrbanVibes wrote: Hey there. I would need to change Data - Value but I don't know what the ID for that field is. It looks like it should be possible to use this to take the current value of spell tomes and multiply them by 5-10 to make spell tomes far more expensive and thus function as an alternative deterrent. Mysticism doesn't have a Spell Research patch yet so I'm yet to use this, but I've been looking at the code. It is a good reference to look at how the author did this.Įdited by UrbanVibes, 06 January 2020 - 12:03 PM. It changes records to give them proper names for sorting and does a lot of things.

You can also check the SSE mod #10959 "Auto Patching - VIS - JOP - Disenchant All - Weightless". You'll see how a BOOK record looks like and what you need to look for and change exactly. open "Skyrim.esm", open the Book category and pick any Spell Tome, e.g.

If you're unsure on how to come up with an approach like the one above, have a look at a Spell Tome in SSEEdit, e.g. I haven't tested this, but this should work in principle or get you started.
SetElementEditValues(e, 'DATA\Value', bookValue) check if there is a keywordValue that contains 'VendorItemSpellTome 'ģ) The Price is stored in the DATA - Value segment.īookValue := GetElementEditValues(e, 'DATA\Value') īookValue := bookValue * 5 // Spell tome is 5 times more expansive KeywordValue := GetEditValue(ElementByIndex(keyword, index)) VendorItemBook, VendorItemSpellTome etc.)įor index := 0 to pred(ElementByIndex(keyword, index)) to only change BOOK records that have the "VendorItemSpellTome" keyword: This would only give you books (including regular books).Ģ) Next, you need to filter on Spell Tomes, i.e. My script only changes what is referencing the spell tomes, but it doesn't change the actual spell tomes directly.ġ) To do this, you would start by changing lines 92 to 95 to say "if (recordSignature 'BOOK') then exit The script was also a learning experience for me, to create a script from scratch and to make it work. I wanted to use the research method exclusively and it bothered me to have Spell Tomes just laying around everywhere, which would tempt me to just pick them up and learn the spells the easy way.Īlso, I put a lot of comments in the script to make it as easily understandable as I could, so that others can take this script as a starting ground and adapt it to create their own scripts for other purposes.

Me like! Excinerus wrote: you answered yourself x) this is a modding site, it's a minority site.Īs it says in the description, it is meant for mods like Spell Research (#20983), where you can research spells yourself instead of learning them from spell tomes. Mods like this help to craft a world where magic is rare and special. You may like the idea of running to the college of Sybille or Farangar but you would be in the minority Th0raxeThe1mp4ler wrote: Some people like the idea of unlocking the magic themselves and not just copying someone else's work from a book that you can buy at almost any vendor.
